I’ve been passionate about business since I was 14. I’ve tested loads of random ideas (apps, juices, cushions, social clubs – all sorts) but never actually started a company. I’ve always found it easy to motivate myself because I can’t accept settling for the same situation that I grew up in. However, as you know, this was my first venture that I actually put into motion; the one which I felt could be very successful and meaningful.
Upon reflection, neither XXXXXXX or I understood the mountain that needed to be climbed. One that, in all honesty, has almost broke me. But one that I’m grateful for the journey that I’ve been on and what I’ve learned along the way. Having finished this journey, it’s clear to me that it’s impossible to know what it takes just by looking at a mountain from a distance but never starting that journey. It’s impossible to understand the terrain, the different paths up, the challenges, the mentality necessary for the ups and downs, the tools and equipment required and the support needed to set up, run and subsequently exit a business. I believe that I wouldn’t have got very far on that journey without you two. You’ve both been instrumental in leading me through many challenges, providing support and guidance that goes far beyond what anyone has done for me before. I’ll never forget that.
If I go on to start another business, and that business be successful, then it’ll be a direct result of my experience and learnings here. I take huge value from the past 3 years because of that. So, deeply, thank you for your role in my journey.
And, it’s important to separate out your guidance, words of wisdom, coaching, advice and comments of positive reinforcement from the support that you’ve shown me by continuing to work on the dossiers despite income; committing your time, energy and opportunity cost just to keep me on that mountain; to keep me in the game. I’ve not been shown that level of kindness and support before, and I may never again, so I’m incredibly grateful, thank you. I’ll ensure to pass that care and stewardship on someday.
I’m also greatly appreciative for the professional opportunity to witness your work and to learn from you both by observation. I’ve been in awe of your ability, approaches, expertise and mentality to solving complex problems. And consistently doing so effectively and quickly. In an industry once defined by clowns, jokers and jesters, to me you’ve led like role models and have achieved miracles only capable of master magicians. To me, you are the sorcerers of CBD.
I’m regretful that I couldn’t repay your generosity by making a wild success in this market. I’d reached my limit. And even then, you were vital in the closing deal and have helped ensure that it stands the best chance to bear further fruit for me, thank you. If it doesn’t, then to come away without owing money is very very very helpful for the future for my partner and I, and my family. And in addition to all of that above, I’ve also been fortunate to gain in mentorship and friendship – which I hope may continue.
As you can see, in many ways you’ve had a lot of impact on my development and on this key chapter of my life. I hope this message portrays that sincerely. Thank you.
